Self in dream less sleep

Self in Dreamless Sleep
When a man is asleep, with senses withdrawn and serene and sees no dream-that is the Self. This is immortal, fearless. This is Brahman. Then Indra went away satisfied in heart. But even before he had reached the gods, he saw this difficulty: In truth it (i.e. the self in dreamless sleep) does not know itself as 'I am it,' nor these other creatures. It has therefore reached in dreamless sleep utter annihilation, as it were. I do not see any good in this. He returned with fuel in hand. To him Prajapati said: Well, Indra, you went away satisfied in heart; now for what purpose have you come back? He (Indra) said: Venerable Sir, in truth it (i.e. the self in dreamless sleep) does not know itself as 'I am it,' nor these other creatures. It has therefore reached utter annihilation, as it were. I do not see any good in this. So it is, Indra, replied Prajapati. I shall explain the Self further to you and nothing else. Live with me another five years. Indra lived with Prajapati another five years. This made in all one hundred and one years. Therefore people say that Indra lived with Prajapati as a brahmacharin one hundred and one years. - Chandogya Upanishad VIII, XI,1 - 3

dream in the sense

We dream with our eyes open. It is why our ancestors said life is like that of a dream . Notice every thing comes and goes like dreams : our posessions, and whatever we do is being done unconsciously out of habit. We are being unaware of our every moment and our breath.

Jung on dreams

C. G. Jung held that dreams function to reveal the unconscious mind, anticipate future events, and give expression to neglected areas of the dreamer's personality. Another theory, which PET scan studies appear to support, suggests that dreams are a result of electrical energy that stimulates memories located in various regions of the brain. - Columbia Encyclopedia on dream

Manipulating your own dream

You are sleeping and while sleeping you are dreaming. You become aware that you are dreaming while you are sleeping. This knowledge of your dreaming called lucid dreaming. when you become aware of your dreaming you can easily stop it or if you want you can get involved with the dream fully. This way you may try to manipulate the dream as you wish.

Greatest achievement

The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities." ~ James Allen from As a Man Thinketh

wish fulfillment

Sigmund Freud, in his pioneering work The Interpretation of Dreams (1900, tr. 1913), was one of the first to emphasize dreams as keys to the unconscious. He distinguished the manifest content of dreams—the dream as it is recalled by the individual—from the latent content or the meaning of the dream, which Freud saw in terms of wish fulfillment. - Columbia Encyclopedia

Man Ray

CONVERSION TO MODERNISM
The early work of Man Ray
By Francis Neumann
Particularly famed for his creative and innovative photographic images and his relationship with the French surrealist group during the Twenties and Thirties, this book shows the Earlier Man Ray, featuring his works from 1907-1917.” My mother told me that I made my first man on paper when I was three”, asserted Man Ray in the 1960s. When he was seven, he used crayons to add color to a drawing he had made of a battle ship, which was based on a news paper reproduction. Though his family praised the details in the picture, they objected to the colors he chose. He defended himself by reasoning that since the original picture was in black, he felt perfectly free to use his imagination. The works depicted here range from early nude studies made at the academy, through to stunning modernistic compositions, many of which show as to how Man ray was influenced by French cubist paintings.

Roaming about dreamis

According to Lobsang Ramba, our spirit or soul used to get out of our body during deep sleep and roam about , then return back to normal position, people who do not understand this thinks they had dreamed accordingly.

control over the dream

Electroencephalograph studies, measuring the electrical activity of the brain during REM sleep, have shown that young adults dream for 11/2 to 2 hours of every 8-hour period of sleep. Infants spend an average of 50% of their sleep in the REM phase (they are believed to dream more often than adults) a figure which decreases steadily with age. During dreams, blood pressure and heart rate increase, and breathing is quickened, but the body is otherwise immobile. Studies have shown that sleepers deprived of dream-sleep are likely to become irritable and lose coordination skills. Unusually frightening dreams are called nightmares, and daydreams are constructed fantasies that occur while the individual is awake. Studies have demonstrated the existence of lucid dreaming, where the individual is aware that he is dreaming and has a degree of control over his dream. - Columbia Encyclopedia

Lawrence's poems complete

COMPLETE POEMS BY D.M.LAWRENCE
Lawrence’s reputation as a novelist has often meant that his achievements in poetry have failed to receive the recognition they deserve. This edition brings together all of them in a form he himself has sanctioned, his collected poems of 1928 , the unexpurgated version of pansies and nettles adding to these volumes the contents of the two note books in which he was still writing poetry while he died in 1930. Hence it allows the reader to trace the development of Lawrence as a poet and appreciate the remarkable originality and distinctiveness of his achievements. There is an introduction and notes provided by David Ellis of the University of Kent and Canterbury.

People dream heavily

People dream heavily about heaven, thinking they would visit heaven after their death and live happily there after forever there.
Is it true? Is there a heaven up above the sky, where we can go after death and live there. I don’t think so. All the heaven and hell are here in this world around us. We are able to feel it now and then. Then what is the actual thing about this heaven. It is only an imagination. We just running after it.

What do you dream?

WHAT DO YOU DREAM?

To learn more, graduate, seek a job, earn more, get married, have children, have all the facilities, provide every thing for the children, enjoy life, and see that all the children are settled down conveniently. Is this all, is this the ambition of life. All other living being also lead life similar to this, rear children, then die. Is this reason, we were born in this world? Simply living and dieing.

Billionaire dream

Dreaming to become a Billionaire. If you hope to do so, you must save as much as possible. Thrift is the way to become rich. Just saving everything you earn won’t help at all. You must try to reduce your expenditure as much as possible. Try to cut down the unnecessary expenditures. After achieving the possible limit, try to invest in potential enterprises. You must keep something for your meals and other necessities. Little by little you will have to build up. Good luck to you forever.

Learn well anything you fancy. Go deep into it. Make yourself thoroughly.

If you believe your self, you will win.
Always win, all the time.
Everyone will be behind you.
Wish you good luck.

Youngsters used to dream much, why? They just look towards their future. Education – getting a degree, job – to become an executive, getting married – enjoy life, having children, etc. Not all of them succeed. Only a few get proper guidance to display their talent. Most of them have to face the reality.

Victorious dream

The sign of a Christian cross appeared to Emperor Constantine of Rome in a dream that promised his victory in the battle. “Constantine had probably experienced his great "in hoc signo Vinces" vision in 312 before his victory at the Milvian Bridge battle. The story goes that Constantine had a vision of those words upon a Christian cross and that this vision prompted Constantine to pledge to convert if he actually did win the battle. Since he was the victor, the vision led to his conversion to Christianity, ultimately.”

How we dream?

How we dream? Whether it is because of the day time thinking or worries and other experiences become our dreams during we sleep? The images we see during those dreams have any connections to these. What about the emotions we get during the dreams? What is the explanation for all these? Some times we see images, people and so many other things which we have never seen or thought of in our life time. Who can explain these?

Interpretations of dreams

Sigmund Freud's The Interpretation of Dreams was published at the beginning of 1900 and the 20th Century. The book was not initially popular and even among psychoanalysts the techniques were not as well developed as those of transference and defense analysis. Still, the publication marks the re-entry of dreams into mainstream culture after centuries of neglect.http://www.dreamgate.com/dream/library/idx_psychology.htm

No dreams in deep sleep.

We never dream in our deep sleep. While the sleep is interrupted by the sub conscious only we start dreaming limitlessly. We get ideas at this point. Some times we see sceneries which we have never visited and also our usual surroundings. People known to us and unknown to us appear in our dreams. We come across all kind of living beings too. We used to cry, shout, and get angry and so many things like these. We do not understand as how we come across all these. We are unable to believe them as true. Some people claim, that they have actually experienced them. All these seem to be happening without our knowledge.

Dream of a life time

In the evening, go to the sea shore, look at the Sun, while it is going down, it turns into a golden plate of the round shape, it turns into red flame, enjoy the view, just sit there and dream about it forever. It may be far away but you are just closer to it. This is the dream of a life.

Aboriginal dream time

The 'Aboriginal Dreamtime' is that part of aboriginal culture which explains the origins and culture of the land and its people. Aborigines have the longest continuous cultural history of any group of people on Earth - dating back - by some estimates - 65,000 years. Dreamtime is Aboriginal Religion and Culture. The Dreamtime contains many parts: It is the story of things that have happened, how the universe came to be, how human beings were created and how the Creator intended for humans to function within the cosmos. As with all other cultures - it speaks of Earth's Creation by Gods and Goddesses - some of whom were kind hearted - while others were cruel.

Dream well theatre

Dreamwell Theatre was founded in the Spring of 1997 as a non-profit volunteer theatre company dedicated to creating professional-quality productions in Iowa City, Iowa. We further defined our mission as a theater that creates challenging, innovative and inclusive theatrical experiences. In 2001, Dreamwell adopted a new logo. We rededicated ourselves to the spirit of exploration and discovery. By choosing for our logo the image of a sextant, a nautical tool for navigation, we reaffirmed our commitment to being part of the exploration of theatre. Over the past ten years, Dreamwell has produced nearly 50 shows in various locations in Iowa City. We are honored to continue to be part of the vibrant cultural landscape of this amazing city.

Dreams offer opportunities

Not only do dreams offer a private means to explore inner reality and to gain unique, undeniable, personal experiences, but there is overwhelming evidence that they can be used to improve waking life, often immeasurably, supporting Shakespeare's age-old claim by MacBeth that sleep and dreams " are chief nourishers in life's feast." Dreams offer opportunities for fun, adventure, wish fulfillment, creativity, deep personal insight and healing, and all this at no cost and with no line-ups!

Dream that lives within you

Never settle for anything less than your purpose. Never go back on your word - make it count for more than just words. And when you lay your head down at night, you will find peace. Not only within yourself but with the dream that lives within you. And at the end if you are granted a chance to look back... You will smile for you will have lived your dream and your purpose will have been fulfilled.

The Dreamers (2003)

The story conflicts the dreams of three youngsters, who breathe and see the world through the cinema, and the reality of life, on the social movements on streets of Paris. The stone through the window of their apartment is a metaphor of the awakening of Isabelle and Theo. The direction is superb, the cinematography and camera are amazing, the story having the background of true events is delightful and the performance of the cast is perfect. The beauty of the unknown Eva Green is very impressive, and I really recommend this outstanding movie. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0309987/

In the dream world

'In the dream world, the luminous one attains higher and lower states and creates many forms-now, as it were, enjoying himself in the company of women, now laughing, now even beholding frightful sights.( Yajur Veda, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad IV, III-Investigation of the Three States, 13 )
